Nov. 4th, 2004 01:00 pmElizabeth Edwards, wife of former Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards, was diagnosed with breast cancer the day her husband and Sen. John Kerry conceded the presidential race.
Fate can officially blow me. That sucks.
EDIT: Everybody's been saying that if you're upset about how the election turned out, you should do something about it, like help out at a soup kitchen or donate to Planned Parenthood or something. I think in light of this, I'll see about making a donation to breast cancer research this week. Elizabeth Edwards is a nice person, and I'm sure she'd appreciate it.

Date: 2004-11-04 10:26 am (UTC)And thanks -
And you still have lots of time to catch up. I didn't write anything election night either because on top of the results, being sick, and finding out my grandpap was having heart surgery this morning - well - I was distracted.

Date: 2004-11-04 10:25 am (UTC)Donating to Breast Cancer Research is always a good idea. I think I'll be a sheep and follow your lead.

I've been a huge breast cancer supporter for the last three years - since my gram was diagnosed and then died from it.

Date: 2004-11-04 11:03 am (UTC)Between this video (30 mins long but very, very worth it) and the information on their webste (scroll down to "MONDAY Nov 1 2004" for the really interesting bit), they make a scarily convincing case.
Add to this the fact that Diebold, based in Ohio, is run by a major Bush supporter who said last year that he is "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year." and it's enough to at least be worth seeing the information.
