Nov. 11th, 2004 12:40 pmNote to DVD companies and video stores: It's nice that you want to put those DVDs in those paper sleeves, even if they are pretty much useless, but if you do, you mind not putting any stickers or pricetags on it? 'Cause some of us collectors are clinically insane and peeling them off without damaging the sleeves does nothing for our mental health.
*sigh* In any event, stopped at Suncoast and picked up a few movies, which I won't name because I'll probably be reccing them on
movie_recs. Yeah, that No Movies rule would have lasted longer than an hour if it hadn't been the weekend The Incredibles opened and I hadn't signed up for the Action/Adventure recs -- and now, once approved, the War recs -- on
movie_recs. (What does it say about me that out of all the film categories listed, the two the cute, tiny little woman picked 'cause they're her favorites are Action/Adventure and War? Sheesh. ;))
And, because I was thinking about it on the bus, a little Charlie/Claire ficlet ... :)
****
All Claire can think about when she looks at Charlie now is Pavlov's dog.
Somehow, with Charlie shoveling imaginary peanut butter into his mouth with his finger, she'd practically been able to taste it. Yeah, practically, she thinks with a hint of wry amusement. She could taste it, nutty and creamy and melting in her mouth.
Charlie gave her that, she thinks, and now just looking at him brings up the remembered taste of sweet, wonderful peanut butter.
And every once in a while, she wonders if she can close her eyes and kiss Charlie and find out if he tastes like peanut butter, too.

*wily cackle*
EDIT: If you're an animal lover, read this. *resolves to donate a few bucks for the animals*

Date: 2004-11-11 10:10 am (UTC)And it'll get more fun next week when I get paid, because I'm loathe to rec a movie unless I've seen it once beforehand as a refresher and I suppose I'll just have to rummage through the War section of Suncoast for movies, 'cause there's only so many submarine movies a person can rec. Not to mention Holocaust films ... for crying out loud, there are other war movies out there. I'm missing out! It's a travesty!
Ahem. :)

Date: 2004-11-11 10:30 am (UTC)I've been told if you aim a hairdryer at the sticker for a few seconds, you can get the label off without damaging the cover. I presume it melts the glue. Never actually tried it myself, but it makes sense to me.
