Mar. 24th, 2005 08:15 amOkay, so last night I had this idea. And apparently, it was still in my head when I woke up. So, a few questions.
1. What would be a good name for a community like that? It's too early, and I'm drawing blanks.
2. Would anyone else beside me even be interested in writing these things for a community? I mean, interest in reading it is one thing. Interest in writing for it is another.
EDIT: I just realized that discounting drinks, all I've had to eat for the past two days is an apple, a can of tuna fish, a buffalo wing, and three cinnamon breadsticks. And I wonder why I'm so hungry right now. *headsmack*

were there to be a comm like that i would gladly write up movies for it, i like the "one a month" thing. and dont worry, when i do write for people to see (other than my private LJ) i do capitalise and use proper grammar.
keep us up to date on the developments... and yeah, maybe watching "Daylight" before bed isint that great of an idea ;)

Date: 2005-03-24 02:48 pm (UTC)I suggest ripping off the Medved brothers' book about spectacularly bad movies, The Golden Turkey Awards, and calling the comm "Golden Turkeys."

Date: 2005-03-24 02:53 pm (UTC)I was browsing Miss Moneypenny's flist when I found this. I would be interested in taking a shot at writing one. I love movies that are so bad they are good. We actually call them Awesomely Bad movies. (I was actually disappointed when Constatine turned out to be good rather than awesomely bad. It had such awesomely bad potential!)
For an example of my movie recapping ability please check out the link: http://www.livejournal.com/users/scarlett78/16050.html
What a great idea!

Date: 2005-03-24 03:09 pm (UTC)I think you can find interested people---I've seen people who are regular fans of such movies and write about them. (See also, the Something Awful movie reviews, although they mostly snark instead of recommending.) But I am such a movie illiterate that I cannot put myself forward...

I respectfully request to be taken on as a writer for the community. Samples of film reviews I've done for my personal journal can be presented upon request. I've taken the liberty of reading some of your stuff and feel that our writing styles are at the very least compatible.
Should you accept my humble request, I also ask that I may take on 'Brat Pack movies' as a genre.
