I find myself morbidly amused by all of the incredibly negative responses to the Enterprise finale I've seen on ye olde friends list. I'm pretty sure these are the worst reactions I've ever seen to a series finale in my entire life. Understandable, though, considering what I know of the finale. I'd want to throttle the writers, too, if I were a fan.

Anyway, it's sunny and supposed to get up to 85 degrees today, but I feel like crap, so I'm going to stay in and work on the monster ficathon entry of doom instead. My goal today is to get to 20k. No, really. I'll probably only reach 15k today, but I could easily see myself getting to 20k before the day is through. It'd be so much easier if I could just download what's in my head instead of doing that much typing. Le sigh.

I'm actually quite surprised at how violently negative my reaction to it has been. I've never been a hardcore fan of the series (despite that whole "I learned to speak English by watching Star Trek" anecdote I like to tell) but this was such a travesty that anyone with even the smallest bit of interest in any of the Trek series should be offended. *shudder* 'Twasn't pretty, I can tell you that.

I couldn't bear to watch the finale. 'Cause if I didn't see it then it didn't happen. So there.

Once I read Jolene Blalock's reaction to the finale, I figured it wasn't going to be pretty. I don't ever think I've ever seen someone involved with a TV show come forward and say, "This finale? Sucks beyond the telling of it."

I hear her direct quote was "fucking appalling". Apparently she's a big TOS fan.

I hear like half the cast is essentially left out, too.

I didn't think the finale was all that bad - it was kind of neat, the way they brought together all the different eras of the Enterprise - but I was saddened by FIXED TO PREVENT SPOILERS: a certain poorly conceived loss of a regular character, and the fact that we never got to hear the Big Speech. I thought that was a cop-out by writers who just didn't want to take the time to compose something inspirational.

All the outrage actually drove me over to take a peek at the TWOP boards 'cause I always love to look at a trainwreck.

Dude. Turning the Enterprise cast into props in their own finale? OUCH.

I'm just glad Enterprise is over.
That was the WORST of all the Star Trek:TOS spin offs.
It never should have existed.

*spits on it and kicks its corpse*

Where might one go to read a combination summary/review of this travesty?

Or would the full horror be incomprehensible to someone who's only seen the first three episodes?

I've only seen a couple episodes, myself, and I'm morbidly curious, too. All I know is that whenever I wandered through the room where my parents were watching it, I saw more of Riker than I did of anyone else.

I just hope they didn't do anything to screw over Hoshi when I wasn't looking. I adored her.

I've only seen vague snippets of episodes, and I saw the finale last night and still thought "oh, that ain't right". Well, actually I thought "somebody's gonna get lynched for this", but same difference.

It was one of the biggest cop-outs I've ever seen, and managed to make everything cool that ever happened in that particular spinoff seem totally pointless at the same time. And I say this from the perspective of a person who could care less about Star Trek only if she made a concerted effort to do so.

That was just not a nice thing to do to the fans.

I remember being furious with how they ended Voyager. We KNEW they were going to get home, you asstards, we want to know what happens when they GET there! DON'T END THE SERIES WITH A SHOT OF THE SHIP IN EARTH ORBIT!!!

Never saw that one, but yeah, I agree.

Dear god, it WAS bad. I'd seen all of two episodes but even I was horrified and insulted by that thing. Giving Troi and Riker the last shot of the series? Bitch, please.

Sadly, no, Forever Knight (where the hero turns his love interest into a vampire after three seasons of trying to turn himself human) was worse.

But it was bad. I just refuse to admit it happened.

Where can I go to find out more about this? I've never watched the show, but I've developed something of a fondness for watching others get pissed off at bad canon-rape being done by the copyright-owners... after one of my all-time favorite characters was brually canon-raped by hers. I like to cheer the objectors on.

You could always go over to the Enterprise forums at Television Without Pity and look around. If there's anything about a show to bitch about, the TWoP junkies will be complaining about it.

Wow. Just returned from there and... wow.

Way to assfuck the loyal fans of a show.

This seems to be happening a lot in science fiction franchises lately... are we all wearing kick-me papers on our backs that we don't know about?
