For serious. One of my aunts and my grandfather were both adopted into my family, but I didn't find out until recently - it just didn't matter. We love them, they love us, they're family. *shrug*

Exactly. My older sister is adopted. Her father abandoned her when she was a baby. Her mother died when she was sixteen. She needed a family. So she got ours. >( And I don't care if she's not blood related, she is FAMILY.

This chick has never seen the kids that wander into the ER without a parent who's at the crackhouse, and just told their children to "go down the the ER" because they had a cold. And they're seven. And it's midnight on a Friday. But hey, that was their biological mother, so she must be the better parent, right

This is not to say that there aren't a lot of kids out there that have been taken away by the CYS that still don't have better care in Foster homes, but still, I'm a firm believe in removing children from this crap and placing them permanently with any good adoptive home that will take them. My world also has bunnies and unicorns and fountains made of chocolate.

The fact that she seems liberal and supports this is quite disturbing. I wasn't adopted, but I am illegitimate and have never met the bio man. I can tell some things because I look a little different than my family in certain obvious ways, but the statement that because "nature makes families" gives him legal presence in my life makes me a little ill.

And guardianship is the answer? What kind of kid is going to grow up wearing a t-shirt, "I'm not wanted and that's okay!"? That is going to fuck someone up, especially as adoption is legal and quite accepted now.

And where genetics make up the personality? Can we call Penn & Teller Bullshit and have her on there with her "Pro-Choice Mom" shirt and just have them scream?
