Somebody on ye olde friends list admitted they'd never read a Harry Potter book, and I was thinking about how that's just one of those things that's not embarrassing at all and yet still manages to get a shocked, "Seriously?! Why not?" reaction out of people.

So today's time-wasting question -- name something you've never done (or more than one, if you want) that the average person has, the kind of thing that would get that kind of shocked reaction. Never had a pet, never held a baby, never traveled out of your home state ... something like that.

Don't know if you would count this or not, but in todays society it might seem surprising. I have never tried recreational drugs, tried pot, or even smoked cigarettes. And no, I'm about as far from being uptight and straight laced as you can get :-)

I've never watched even one episode of Survivor, American Idol, The Amazing Race, Big Brother, or any of the Bachelor/ette incarnations.

Ditto that. Possibly this is because my father's been a smoker since he was fourteen (he's edging in on fifty now) and when he coughs, you can hear it from out of state.

My friend Conrad, who I haven't seen since I moved out of Phoenix, used to smoke a particular brand of cigarettes that smelled *really* nice, though. Being around him and his smokes again is, oddly, very high up their on my list of reasons to go home again. o.o

Hmmm - yeah I knwo that one. I had some friends who smoked clove cigs. Damn those things smelled nice. As for the pot - hell - that smell literally makes me nauseous.

I say 'have yet to' because I either plan to do them, or am bound to sooner or later. I'm a pessoptomist that way.

I have yet to learn to swim.
I have yet to learn to drive.
I have yet to buy alcohol.
I have yet to go to a bar with boobies and poles upon which people dance.
I have yet to break a single bone in my body, or spend a single night in the hospital. Similarly, I have yet to participate in a fight. :>
I have yet to play Pong.

I'm boooooring. I mean, seriously, I've only ever slept with one person and if he's game for it, I'd like to keep it that way. :>

Gasp! Go more often!!! :). My parents took me to Philly almost every weekend. Granted, it was 15 minutes from my house and my grandparents lived there, but I loved it.

I was born in PA and lived right outside for most of my life, but I've never been to Lake Erie either-it was at least an 8 hour drive and my family avoided car trips at all costs.

lol - my wife and I are BOTH that way! there are times its like - hunt down the neighbors, puke at their feet and tell em "smoke that you pain in my ass!!!" and yeah its bad - we live near a county project, and its use is rampant there.
