"St. Elsewhere took place in a snow globe? What's next? Cagney and Lacey took place in a slider pen?!"

HEE! I love Wil Wheaton. :)

Yeah, the last episode of St. Elsewhere, they pulled the camera back from the hospital and showed that it was in a snow globe and that it had all happened in the mind of the autistic child who was playing with it.

Boy, if I had been a St. Elsewhere fan, I would've been pissed.

Ya think?

It caused almost the same amount of furore as 'Last season was all a dream' on.. err.. is that Dallas? The one with JR.

Also, I think the amount of fans that acknowledge the existence of that scene is probably on a par with the amount of Highlander fans who think there is a second movie (which is clearly an illusion, the sequel to Highlander was named Highlander III for completely different reasons than the existence of a number II).

And, remember, Highlander the TV show only lasted five seasons in my mind, and Richie is still alive and well. ;)

Yours too? ;)

It's amazing how many people didn't like Richie until all of a sudden, his death was the entryway to a brand new world of massive suck on that show. (Charmed and Highlander share that great (read: moronic) idea of using their last season to try to force the audience to suddenly adore some idiotic female lead we've never seen before, when we really just want is a spinoff for a male character we've loved to pieces for years already.)

I noticed that trend with Charmed. What is with this whole new female lead thing? *Stomps foot* I want my Wyatt and Chris.

But I digress.

Everybody wants their butt-kicking Buffy knockoff. Never mind that they might have a perfectly appealing male character over there, when they could make a girl who kicks ass! Everybody likes them, right? *eye roll*

You know, I think when HL did it, it was almost worse than what's happening on Charmed now. Kern and company have this delusion that the audience has been following strong female characters on their show for years now, so of course they want another female lead. It's the wrong impression, but it's somewhat understandable.

HL screwed up in two ways -- the audience didn't want a new female lead, they wanted a Methos spinoff, and why were they wasting time with these stupid new female "butt-kicking chicks" when they already had Amanda? And then they went and gave Amanda the spinoff anyway, and they totally screwed it up.

He's been a blast on I Love The 80s. He's definitely one of the funniest commentators they've got this time around.

I can't remember whether or not they had him on any of the others right now, and I can't remember if they did Stand By Me on any of the others, either, but if not, they SOOOO have to do the movie in the 1986 episode tomorrow night. I'd love to see him talk about it on there. (Or about anything, for that matter. He's awesome. :))

I don't really care what he talks about, I love him. ^_^

You should, if you haven't, read his books.

The Tommy Westphall Multiverse.

Or, how everything from Benson to The Addams Family is inside a snowglobe.

Wow... I saw that last night and thought "WTF?!?!?!"

reading the multiverse thing is terrifying. It makes my brain hurt. At the same time, it's really fascinating. And some people have *way* too much time on their hands.

Unless it was written as a thesis for some bizzare reason. Then I could see someone doing it.
