Dec. 19th, 2005 04:12 pmOh, yeah, I have been in fandom waaaaay too long when I've spent the last few hours going over plot notes for the Books of Boggs and have figured out over the course of the afternoon -- if these goofy books ever get published (*crosses fingers*) and develop any sort of fandom -- where the slash will come from, whom everybody will think of as a Mary Sue, and where fanfic would get Jossed. Heh. I'm easily amused. :)
In related news, apparently Sean Boggs's new theme song in my head is "If You Want Blood" by AC/DC. Fuckin' AC/DC. Everywhere I turn anymore, there they are. *eye roll*
EDIT: Of course, now that I've got my
yuletide story out of the way, I'm already thinking, "OOO! OOO! I know what I want next year!" Which will probably result in me not wanting any of these next year, but what the hell? It's either this or actual work. ;) (HEE. I love ficathons, even with all of the accompanying stress. Hell, because of the accompanying stress.)
Fandoms I need to consider requesting next year ...
Dark City -- I don't think I've ever seen a fanfic for Dark City. Not that there isn't any, but there should be more if *I* can't find any.
The Long Kiss Goodnight -- Okay, this is one I've seriously been meaning to write fic for. I mean, Geena Davis heavily armed and kicking ass? That is soooo my type of character.
Galaxy Quest -- Well, honestly. And what's really sad is that if I were going to request anything for GQ, it'd be Fred/Laliari fic after they got back to Earth. Because, HEE! The cuteness!
Whale Rider -- Oh, my GOD. Do you know how gorgeous and beautiful and heartbreaking really well-written Whale Rider fic would be?
Billy Elliot -- *happy sighs* I really need to watch that movie again.
The Goonies -- Heh. I want futurefic and I want it yesterday. :)
The Incredibles -- I have such a thing for futurefic in most of these cases, it's unreal. I want Jack-Jack futurefic in this. Really. And maybe Violet and Dash, too, but mostly Jack-Jack.
Alive -- What? It's not like it's not already on the fandom list, which amuses the hell out of me, because ten bucks says it was somebody else wanting angst and forced cannibalism and slash and it's kinda scary that somebody else out there thinks like I do about that movie.
Miracle -- I'm probably going to hell for mostly wanting slash in two movies with characters based on real people in them, but still.
Jaws -- *snickers*
The Last Starfighter -- Wait, wait! I've got a funny story about this one. I once went looking for Last Starfighter fanfic, and found one on AFF. And Alex and Maggie go off at the end of the movie and they're at their new home on another planet (she didn't pack anythng, by the way), and sometime in the few hours they're on the planet before they go to bed that night, she manages to find a little red lacy teddy somewhere. Because I don't know about you, but when I go to a new planet and I didn't pack, my first stop is Victoria's Secret. *giggles*
The Poseidon Adventure -- Heh. I blame the recap, I swear. I want original movie fanfic, just 'cause.
Summer School -- See, what I really need to get in my head in the next year is that I'm not allowed to use my
yuletide requests as a weapon against innocent bystanders. *snickers*
U-571 -- Dude, Thomas Kretschmann is the U-boat captain, and Matthew McConnaughey is the plucky American lieutenant. Give me one good reason there couldn't be slash other than the fact that they didn't have five free minutes alone together before Jake Weber beat the U-boat captain to death with the giant wrench.
Unbreakable -- Two words: More. Fanfic. Hell, any fanfic.
Stand By Me -- That's me ... warping my childhood, one classic movie at a time. :)
Running on Empty -- And one River Phoenix movie at a time, too, while I'm at it.
Iron Giant -- Again, more fanfic. MORE.
