That story freakin' breaks my heart, because I can totally remember when I first read about that tossed plotline and it just hurt to think about it. So reading it as a fic ... well, it made me hug my throw blanket pretty tightly.

I would have loved to have seen that as an ep, even though it would have broken me. Glad that they didn't go that dark with Firefly, because I love my tortured captain with his sense of humor.
