Fic recs ahoy ...
Mar. 2nd, 2006 10:41 pmAnd something I haven't done for a couple of weeks ... more fic recs. :)
Ash and Dust, by
ignipes (Supernatural, John/Mary) -- I think we've firmly established that Dean/Sam is my dirtywrongbadbutsofreakingHOT pairing from Supernatural, and John/Mary is my heartbreaking pairing, because OMG, so freaking sad. And this is just so sad and so lovely, and it doesn't take a lot to make me come out of a story wanting to give John a hug, but this one just makes me ache.
Fidelity, by
stillane (Supernatural, Dean and Sam) -- A different take on "Faith" written before the show aired based only on the promo. Awesome and sad and brotherly love all around.
Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, by
xphoenixrising (Supernatural, John/Mary) -- OMG, YES. A look back at Mary, and she's the tough cookie you kinda hope she was. And then I cried, because every time we lose Mary in fic, I cry.
Paradise Where You Choose It, by
scribblinlenore, (Supernatural, Sam and others) -- Holy hell, does this story kill me. Almost all Supernatural fic is just inherently sad, but getting to the end of this just hurts a LOT. (In a good way, but still.)
One Thing That Didn't Happen at Seattle Grace the Time Everyone Almost Blew Up, by
annakovsky (Grey's Anatomy, George/Bailey) -- Wait, don't go! Okay, you know how I said after the whole bomb thing that I was reluctantly wishing Bailey's husband could die so she and George could hook up? Well, this is that story, and considering it's a love story with Bailey in it -- who couldn't do sweet if she tried, and good for her -- it really is adorable.
Harder to Breathe, by
moonilicious (Supernatural ... sort of, and RPS ... sort of. I just can't tell you which and ruin the surprise) -- If you'll read slash in either Supernatural or the SPN RPS without getting squicked, you've got to read this. I cannot begin to describe the twisted happiness this story gives me. ;)
Ecce Crucem Domini, by
unautremonde (Supernatural, Sam/Dean) -- Well, Sam's a girl again, and as usual it's just as hot and fucked-up as you can imagine.
What You Need, by
violaswamp (House/Veronica Mars, House and Logan) -- So it's from last year. Who cares? Did you see the characters involved? Because Logan being a minor and all, he needs a place to live after Aaron goes to jail, and why not with his loving cousin? *snickers*
Something Better, by
fox1013 (Grey's Anatomy, George/Izzie) -- Again, from last year, but again, my fic recs, my exceptions. In this case, the exception is that there are Muppets involved. Let's face it -- Muppets trump everything.
The Things You Don't Expect, by
alethialia (Supernatural, John, Sam and Dean) -- Little Sammy asks about sex. It goes about as well as you'd expect. ;)
Untitled Grey's Anatomy fic, by
chandri (Grey's Anatomy, George/Meredith) -- Wait, don't go again! Okay, look, imagine if following their night together -- or hell, during their night together -- Meredith hadn't behaved like a selfish, whining twit. This is kind of what I was hoping for in the morning-after. Not too comfortable, obviously, but definitely not Meredith acting like a selfish, whining twit.
Phantom, by
penknife (X-Men Movieverse, Rogue/Erik) -- Rogue has Erik in her head, and he wants to come out and play, although mostly with her.
Comparative Morality, by
cupiscent (Supernatural, Sam/Dean) -- Sam has this recurring dream where he's fucking his brother. It's when he acts on it that he really gets in trouble.
Thomas J. Servo, Bot P.I., by
mst3k_100 (Mystery Science Theater 3000/Veronica Mars, Tom Servo) -- After they return to Earth, Tom starts up a detective agency in Neptune. If I have to elaborate on that concept at all to get you to read it, I don't know what to do with you.
Neither Predator Nor Prey, by
halfshellvenus (Supernatural, Sam/Dean) -- Following the events of "The Benders", the boys return to the car to check their wounds, and as the summary says, walking back to the car is only the beginning.
Desperation, by
dopplegl (Supernatural, Sam/Dean) -- I'm starting to think I have a thing for fics where Sam or Dean (but usually Dean) get into a barfight, and then there's smutty post-bandaging sex.
Someday (Never Comes), by
traveller (Supernatural, Mary/John) -- Oh, how I love John in this story. I mean, I love Mary, too, and I adore watching them fall in love, but my GOD, she's a lucky woman.

Date: 2006-03-03 03:56 pm (UTC)Is it weird that the only Sam/Dean stuff I can actually READ is when Sam's a girl?

Looking at your own fic in the spnnewsletter... heavens, woman, do you write a new SN fic every day? I'm way far behind on them! And all the ones I've read have been fantastic.

Date: 2006-04-06 11:16 am (UTC)And yeah, about one every other day, at the rate I've been going the past couple of months. This fandom is going to crack me with overwork, I swear. *giggles*

Date: 2006-04-06 04:28 pm (UTC)Dang! That's about my rate of Prison Break fic, which isn't necessarily bad (except for *cough* my readers).
Wish I could get Sam and Dean to p0rn for me more, or even just create a full short-length story. I have a much harder time writing for them than I do for Prison Break. :0
I mean, damn. I can churn out Sara Tancredi fics with less effort than any non-drabble Sam and Dean. What's up with that? NOT that I plan to cede the battle, you understand...
