Mitt Romney's dropped out.

"I must now stand aside, for our party and our country," Romney said. "If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win."

"And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror," he said.

Excellent point! Remember, folks, terrorists wait to attack until a Democrat is president.

Oh, wait ...

My god. Can he get any more self-righteous?

And of course, remember that a Democrat winning is clearly a sign that the End of Days is coming and must be avoided at all!

All I know is that the terrorists are way overdue. When will I find a use for all these canned good items and things that I've saved up on the knowledge that Homeland Security is using their guts to predict terrorist attacks and god knows nothing's more accurate than a gut feeling?

Also, I totally wanted Romney to fight it out to the finish. If I can be Nadered for eight years, the Republicans can be Romneyed. Yeah, it's not exact. NONETHELESS.

Ooh, and he's doing it because he loves America too! God knows I don't. I'm just a crazy liberal animal lover who believes in the Constitution and all, so clearly I hate America and want the terrorists to win. If I didn't, I would vote for such a noble, self-sacrificing man as Mitt Romney.

Well, of course they do. They wouldn't risk upsetting the party they know is never going to spoil things by trying to bring about peace...

(I was going to say they wouldn't risk attacking without orders from their bosses, but maybe that's a bit too paranoid...Or Is It???!?)

Douchepickle.

I've heard twatwaffle before, but not douchepickle. I like!

I love the snide inferred insinuation that electing Clinton or Obama would be "a surrender to terror".

Hasn't it occurred to any of these idiots that by harping on TERROR TERROR TERRORISTY TERRORISTS they're actually creating a climate of terror themselves? Which is, you know, exactly what terrorists' goal is?

The neoconservatives have seemed to be following standard fascistic practice of doing their best to define an outside enemy so that they can seize as much power as possible "to protect the people". *eyeroll* Fostering a sense of ongoing terror is just a part of that.

Seriously, why else would we be stuck at threat level Orange for the past, what, two years now? With no mention of anything remotely resembling the foiling of a terrorist plot?

Thus my crazy love for Chris Dodd right now for helping to block the telecom "retroactive immunity" FISA hoohah. Hello, why would they need immunity if they WEREN'T DOING SOMETHING BLATANTLY ILLEGAL?

For serious. How stupid does the current administration think we are?

I think they're working against themselves, too. Threat level Orange has rather lost its impact by now.

Of course it has. Threat Level Zucchini is far more serious. And Threat Level Pomegranate? C'mon. Everyone knows that's only invoked when we're in imminent peril! *grin*

Threat Level Pretzel (http://archives.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLITICS/01/14/bush.fainting/), though, is by far the most serious. ; )

"And I'd like to thank my honorable Democratic opponents, and hope that they have stopped beating their spouses..."

*headdesk* What an enormous fuckwit. Don't let the door hit on the way off the campaign train, Romney... *scowl*

(Honestly? I was hoping he'd stay in a bit longer to help force McCain and Huckabee into spending more money that they then couldn't use in the general election.)

Well, of course Obama's going to encourage the terrorists. He's secretly a Muslim!

*sigh* Why is Romney such a dick? Is there like a special class for that? For being a smarmy bastard?

O.o

A surrender to terror, really. I had no idea I was so formidable. I should check my closet for the boogeyman too.
