You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

We're weird like that.

Last night my parents, grandpa, great-aunt and I went over to my cousin's for leftovers. Afterward while we were driving home, my great-aunt and I got into a discussion about what we've been reading lately and somehow stumbled into talking about V.C. Andrews.

My great-aunt: "I have all the ones in that one series ... what's the name, Petals in the Attic?"
Me: "Flowers in the Attic."
My great-aunt: "Eh, they're all the same."
Me: "I know, right? Some penniless but beautiful teenage girl finds out she's some secret baby from some rich family and goes to live in their huge mansion where she falls in love with her half-cousin. And somewhere along the line there's an incest baby."
My great-aunt: "That ... actually sounds about right."

I love being in a family where I can use the phrase "incest baby" and nobody bats an eye.

It's that kind of a day.

Oh, my God, last two chapters, GET OUT OF MY HEAD.

I wonder if I can tempt them out with a carrot or something. *grumbles*

I am of the firm belief that Heidi Klum and Seal make the most adorable babies in Hollywood, and the new baby is no exception.

URGH. You know what sucks? If it weren't for the holidays, my present to myself for finishing Heroine Addiction would be to buy myself a newer, better MP3 player than the one I still can't find.

Except I can't, because:

1. I still have to buy Christmas presents, which I won't be able to afford otherwise.
2. My parents know I lost my MP3 player, so it's entirely possible they could get me a new one for Christmas, which is one of the reasons I try to avoid buying new electronics in December.

I mean, I doubt it -- my mom's been making cracks that she's not spending a bunch on my brother and me this Christmas and she already paid off my car for me for my birthday, which ... not going to lie, is MORE than enough for her not to buy me anything at ALL for Christmas. Seriously, considering the state of my finances right now, I'm terrified this is going to be another Christmas where they buy me some expensive piece of electronics and I can only spend seventy-five bucks on the both of them, much less one of them.

Which kinda sucks, because my dad brought up the Kindle in the car the other day and I verbally flailed over e-readers in general at the two of them and I think I would die a happy death if I was opening presents on Christmas morning and that was one of them.
