Well, that's a bit ... meta.

So I clicked on the TWoP recaplet for "The Beast Below" and didn't remember until about halfway through that Jacob writes the DW recaps.

He didn't like it, but then I got to the last sentence of the recaplet, which ends like this:

... there doesn't seem to be a point to anything right now, just childish retarded bullshit happening and then the show screaming THIS IS VERY MEANINGFUL right in your face.

Putting aside his use of the word "retarded," that entire statement is impressive coming from someone whose twelve-page AI recaps actually stop recapping the events of the episode on page eight.

Status of the writer, Big Bang edition

6200 / 20000

On one hand, I really wanted to get to 9k last night, but by the time 8:00 rolled around I had such a headache from staring at the computer all day I had to step away or I was going to fry a synapse.

That said, I still have 6200 more words than I had a week ago, and I have seven more days to pound out a rough draft. I have all day today to focus on writing and I don't have to leave for work tomorrow until ten in the morning, which gives me another couple of hours to work on it.

So I'm going to work until I hit 7k and then go take a bath to relax for a bit. The last thing I need today is another headache due to eyestrain.

I was going to try for the halfway mark tonight, but eyestrain is getting the better of me and my eyes simply do not want to stare at a computer screen anymore today.

I'm not where I wanted to be at. That said, I've set my alarm for tomorrow morning for six a.m. and I don't have to leave for work until ten. Hopefully I won't go snooze-happy when my alarm goes off tomorrow and completely defeat the purpose of setting the damn thing.

That said, spn_j2_bigbang first drafts are due any time on May first, which is Saturday. If worse comes to worse and I don't get as much done as I'd like the next five days, I'm going to slog my ass off on Saturday, that's all I've got to say.

If nothing else, I may not get to write a lot at work but I definitely need to pull the plot together while I'm there. Needs more hitting things. GRRR. MARY SMASH.
