Halle Berry only agreed to star in the second X-Men sequel after studio bosses agreed to give her a bigger role in the forthcoming movie. The Oscar-winner was reluctant to reprise her role as Storm in X-Men 3 - but producer Lauren Shuler convinced her by boosting her character's involvement. Schuler says, "I love working with her. We would only write a huge role for her, so she's right in that respect. We would make sure that would happen." Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and Famke Janssen are also expected to reprise their roles in film, set to begin shooting next year.

Ugh. I suppose pointing out to the producers that they could have spent that extra time and money on Gambit or Colossus or Beast and made the audience infinitely happier would just go right over their heads.

EDIT: You know how they have those DVD players that'll just edit out objectionable material for children? They should have DVD players that do that for adult movie lovers. So if I want to push a button and replace Halle Berry with a better Storm or force Kevin Costner to speak with an English accent or entirely negate Sylvester Stallone from existence, I have that option.

No, see Anna and Ian sit and drink tea and look all elegant, while you and I and [livejournal.com profile] fuseji and a couple other people knock Halle upside the head until we're too tired to lift our arms.

  1. Used to express refusal, denial, disbelief, emphasis, or disagreement: No, I'm not going (to watch this bad joke of an actress bludgeon my favorite female character with her pity Oscar). No, you're wrong (for bringing her back).

  2. Not at all; not by any degree. Often used with the comparative: no better Berry; no more Berry.

  3. Not: whether or no.

interj.
Used to express strong refusal, doubt, or disbelief.

God, I'm so angry it's choking me and I want to cry. Listen to [livejournal.com profile] indigoskynet, Ms. Donner -- you don't have to do this! Get //Thandie Newton or Angela Bassett or the woman who played AnnaMaria in Pirates of the Caribbean to take over and actually display Storm properly.// Why is it that affirmative acting for actors I hate? This is why this summer has White Chicks and Soul Plane among its movie choices: the wrong people keep getting chances best used on others.

Concievably, even if I got tired of working my upper body on the Halle Berry Weeble, I'd contract out a hired gun to take my shift until I got my second wind.

The fuseji-signal flares in the sky, summoning our LJ hero into action...
