Halle Berry only agreed to star in the second X-Men sequel after studio bosses agreed to give her a bigger role in the forthcoming movie. The Oscar-winner was reluctant to reprise her role as Storm in X-Men 3 - but producer Lauren Shuler convinced her by boosting her character's involvement. Schuler says, "I love working with her. We would only write a huge role for her, so she's right in that respect. We would make sure that would happen." Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and Famke Janssen are also expected to reprise their roles in film, set to begin shooting next year.
Ugh. I suppose pointing out to the producers that they could have spent that extra time and money on Gambit or Colossus or Beast and made the audience infinitely happier would just go right over their heads.
EDIT: You know how they have those DVD players that'll just edit out objectionable material for children? They should have DVD players that do that for adult movie lovers. So if I want to push a button and replace Halle Berry with a better Storm or force Kevin Costner to speak with an English accent or entirely negate Sylvester Stallone from existence, I have that option.

I didn't really notice the silly accent and I thought the hair was at the very least an improvement on the very bad 80s 'do she has in the comics (which I always desperately wanted to like, but the shallow fangirl in me could never quite get past the yellow spandex, which is why the movies are one of the best comic book adaptions ever, because it kept the cool bits of canon and dispensed with the really awful costumes...).
But when Halle started being all 'oh, I've won an Oscar, now I'm a serious actress who's too good for your little comic movie', I truly wanted Brian to write her out so she could go down in history as the woman who was too far up her own arse to see what she was turning down. I hate how Hollywood works, sometimes.

Concievably, even if I got tired of working my upper body on the Halle Berry Weeble, I'd contract out a hired gun to take my shift until I got my second wind.
