So, yeah. Halle Berry being replaced as Storm. *Nelson laugh* I guess that's what you get for being a skanky wench, you ... uh, skanky wench.

And I've already seen Angela Bassett's name come up, which doesn't make me as defensive of her chances for the role as I used to be. And I'm not saying that because she's a bad actress, because she isn't. And I'm not saying that because she'd make a bad Storm, because she wouldn't. My personal problem, if I were in charge of the last movie, is that bumping off Jean and moving in Bobby, Rogue (hopefully), and I'm assuming Colossus in some respect (because he's on IMDB, and don't argue with me because I really, really want him to be there) sort of drops the average age of of the team. Kurt might even it out a bit. I know this sounds stupid, but maybe I'm the only one who think it'd look weird ... a handful of people in their twenties (yes, even Cyclops is young and pretty enough to count, even though James is a year or two past thirty) aaaaaaaand Storm. Talk about the odd man out in that group.

Of course, anything better's than Halle. Hell, my Jerry Garcia plushie could do a better job. And Christina Milian's not a bad choice, I think. The only problem I can foresee is making her look old enough to look like she could have been the other kids' teacher, but she really only has to look a few year older, and you slap the right clothes, makeup and hairstyle onto anyone and it'll make anyone look older.

It does make for a funny mental image, though ... what Jean'll have to say? Just picture it. She comes back from the dead, sees Storm, and basically has an OMGWTFSTFULOLBBQ moment. "Storm! You're younger! You're prettier! I don't hate you! And why is the room less stiflingly overstuffed -- hey, where the hell did your ego go?!"

EDIT: I love the way both newspapers are behaving over this. Not because it's mature journalism or anything -- and I'm pretty sure that's an oxymoron -- but because in my head, I can totally see the Daily Bugle and the Daily Planet pulling crap like this. *snerk* Comics have killed my brain cells.

WOW - thank you :)

Okay - now here's another question - what would their "real" names be? (Like Cyclops is Scott Summers) - cause I'm relatively new to the fandom and get confused easily.

And who is Warren? I've seen people mention him as being one of the 'original' group, with Jean, Scott, Hank, and Ororo but I don't know what his mutant name/ability is.

Thank you :)

Whoops, oversight.

Colossus: Piotr Rasputin. Also known as Peter, Petey, and the Russian Terminator (by Pete Wisdom, from the Time of Unfortunate Writing).

Jubilee: Jubilation Lee (in one alternate future, she used the codename Vertigo). Also known as Jubes (by friends only), Jubecita (by Skin only), Jubie (diminutive and should be avoided) and Firecracker.

Beast: Dr Henry Philip McCoy. Known as Hank to all and sundry. Also Hankster (to Bobby), and the Bouncing Blue Beast (when introducing himself).

Warren Kenneth Worthington III, a.k.a. Angel, Avenging Angel and Archangel, started out as, basically, a guy with wings. A very pretty blond millionaire playboy (these days he's a billionaire) with wings. Not much use in a fight, though eventually seriously good in the air. Then Apocalypse turned him into a blue-skinned killing machine with metal blades instead of feathers (long story). Then Fuckin' Austen turned him into the original white-winged Caucasian, and gave him healing blood (not such a long story, but somewhat nonsensical).

Along the way he was engaged to Candy Southern, who was cool and died unfortunately, had his wings cut off thanks to Gambit, and spent some time dating Psylocke (Elisabeth Braddock, who he very definitely did not deserve).

And that's about as brief as it gets.
