So the protestors aren't allowed to go to Central Park because of possible damage to the grass. So now they just get to wander the streets and gather there anyway later, I'm guessing, 'cause God knows something like this isn't going to stop thousands of protestors. (And I heard it's possibly in the hundreds of thousands, so, yeah. Smooth move.)

This weekend is going to be strangely amusing in a very morbid way for those of us who don't live in NYC, I can already see it coming. And for those of you who do ... well, everybody will leave eventually. *crosses fingers for you*

well, everybody will leave eventually.

They're going to try to make the protestors look bad, I just know it. And it's going to mess up MY commute!

Did you know, the CUNY website(s) had to put big announcements up that schools are NOT closing for the convention?

Weellll, to be fair, it would be awfully hard on the grass. They've been stricter about who gets to use the Great Lawn(?) since they spent millions of dollars restoring it. But I still think they should let the protesters use it to a certain extent. Maybe just a few hours? :(

We offered to spend a weekend re-seeding/turfing the lawn, to pay for the expense of it. Nothing. So we'll be going to Union Square instead!

My boss and her wife are going to protest. But! Her wife managed to get a press pass. XD! So instead of protesting, she's going to be getting pictures of famous republicans and such.

I think it's just going to make more of them show up in protest of the ban. *trying to remember* When was the last time this country had a protest so large and volitile it resulted in violence, anyway? I think it would a serious if it got violent. So long as the protesters can be shuffled out of view, we can pretend everyone agrees and.... *sighs* Rambling again.

i'm more thankful than ever that i decided not to go to nyu.
do you know they're letting them protest on the west side highway though? yes, block traffic for 8 million people, but don't stand on the grass.
