Aaaaaand now, because Apple Trailers apparently vomited up about a thousand new trailers in the past week, I bring you the highlights ...

The Bad News Bears -- Billy Bob Thornton being just as big of an asshole as he was in Bad Santa, in a movie with kids directed by the same guy who directed School of Rock. This could be really good.

Herbie: Fully Loaded -- The car has facial expressions. HELP ME.

A Scanner Darkly -- I like this way too much. (I was going to add "... for a Keanu Reeves movie," but I own at least four of those on DVD, so my argument died. Though he really shouldn't say, "Two hemispheres of my brain are competing?", 'cause that sets up jokes. :))

Lords of Dogtown -- 'Cause Heath Ledger is in it.

Kingdom of Heaven -- 'Cause Orlando Bloom is in it.

The Amityville Horror -- 'Cause Ryan Reynolds is in it (and his shirt isn't).

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy -- 'Cause Marvin's in it. ;) (And I already wanted my very own Hitchhiker's Guide, but this trailer makes me crave one with an unholy fiery passion.)

Zathura -- I suppose pointing out it's a sci-fi version of Jumanji is blatantly obvious to point out, but DUDE! A sci-fi version of Jumanji! And without Robin Williams!

And two featurettes on The Chronicles of Narnia, one about WETA and one about the director.

They should've just left Herbie alone. Facial expressions, pfeh!

I want to give it a chance, because as much as I dislike Lindsay Lohan personally, she's got a really good track record as far as making good, funny movies I like. (Sort of like the opposite of Angelina Jolie. I like her as a person, think she's kind and generous and a great mom, but HATE watching her in movies.)

But the car just ... *sigh*

hooray for Ryan Reynolds and no shirt!

Notice how many of these are remakes of movies that weren't all that good to begin with - or retreads of old properties. Barf. Why, oh, why, can't we have a movie season with some creativity? ::sigh::

I've always thought that they shouldn't do remakes, but that if they do remake something, they should remake the crappy movies. Who needs to remake the good ones? Redo the ones they screwed up in the first place.

But yeah, they definitely need to try and get some new ideas already. *sigh*

I saw the Kingdom of Heaven trailer when I went to see, God help me, Constantine. I've been aquiver with anticipation ever since.

But dude. Orlando Bloom is so not going to be the best part of that movie. Jeremy Irons, man! Liam Neeson!

Oh I am so friggen excited for Hitchhikers I'm about to pee my pans. And Alan Rickman as Marvin? GENIUS

And this?
'Cause Ryan Reynolds is in it (and his shirt isn't).

Should be the tagline of the movie. That is all.

Zathura
That looks really good, actually. And it has the kid from Around The Bend, which will not hurt - he is a genuinely good actor.

Scanner Darkly looks promising. Keanu has new clothes, at last. YAY!!!
I swear to god, he was wearing the same outfit (or some version of) in EVERY movie for a while.

Now the question is why they're thinnly re-making Jumanji.

I mean, I'll go see it. Because I like that sort of thing.

But... why?

'cuz.

I'm just hoping the pulp comic hero guy on the front of the game shows up. And be Tim Robbins. Because otherwise, the movie will not have enough Tim Robbins in it.

It's odd that both The Bad News Bears and A Scanner Darkly are directed by Richard Linklater. But maybe not so odd. Basically, it's his School of Rock thing for the studio money and his Waking Life cult-college-crowd experiment, both in the same year. I look forward to both, because Linklater — with the exception of The Newton Boys, where he didn't have full control anyway — hasn't disappointed me yet.

The new trailer for Sin City looks ungodly cool...
Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Clive Owen, Benecio Del Toro...
there's no way this movie can fail.
I added you as a friend, btw
